Connecticut Senate Bill 99 mandates that new vehicle dealers must present customers, at the time of sale, with a printed explanation of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The act makes it illegal for auto manufacturers and dealers to void a warranty or deny warranty coverage when someone other than the manufacturer or dealer performed service or repairs, or for using recycled or aftermarket parts. The Auto Care Association (ACA) had been petitioning for this for a while.

Auto company Volvo has introduced the “Volvo Service Advantage program” which is a lifetime warranty on parts and labor for all vehicles that are serviced at a registered Volvo dealer after the factory warranty has expired. All Volvo vehicles are eligible for the program which also offers their customers free software updates, complimentary diagnostics, personal service, alternative transportation and a complimentary car wash. The way it works is that after a customer has paid for the initial parts and labor, Volvo will cover the costs of any subsequent repairs that need to be made to that part, excluding accessories and wear items.
